About Allen ISD

The Allen Independent School District serves the rapidly growing city of Allen, Texas located in a suburban community 23 miles north of Dallas. Student enrollment has more than doubled since 1989 to more than 20,800 students in grades K-12.

Students attend one of 18 elementary schools, three middle schools, one freshman center and one high school.  Allen ISD students excel in educational, fine arts and athletics performance.  The district maintains a 98 percent graduation rate and sends more than 80 percent of graduates to post-high school educational opportunities.

In 2015 a bond proposal was created from recommendations brought forth by the Project Kids Committee, an 80-member committee of parents, community members, business leaders and staff members that studied future facility needs for Allen ISD.  The Allen ISD Board of Trustees evaluated the Project Kids recommendations and voted to present a bond proposal in the amount of $272,580,000 to Allen voters in November 2015. Allen voters approved that proposal on November 3, 2015.  Work is now underway on numerous bond projects including Preston Elementary, a STEAM facility to serve grades K-12, construction of a new freshman center, renovations and upgrades to existing facilities, upgraded emergency communications systems, and technology enhancements.
