Welcome! My name is Amanda Tabor and I am the Assistant Principal here at Olson Elementary. I am so excited to be a part of our school and the Olson family. Here are a few interesting facts about me… I graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education and a specialty in Reading. I also have a certification in Dance and Early Childhood and in May of 2007 I graduated with a Masters in Education Administration. I am entering my 13th year in education; four of those years were spent in Garland ISD, five at Marion Elementary in Allen and the rest at Olson Elementrary. In 2005-2006 I was named Teacher of the Year at Marion, and in October of 2008 I was named Teacher of the Month for Collin County by KLAK Radio-McKinney.
In November 2002 I married my amazing husband Josh. He coaches volleyball and softball at Wakeland H.S. in Frisco. We live in the Allen community and absolutely love it here. Josh and I have a son named Braxton Tucker who was born on August of 2011, we also have a dog named Ryleigh and a cat named Sarah. In my spare time, I love to shop, read, go to Josh's games and spend time with family! Speaking of family... My parents are a huge part of my life, my dad is a retired Dallas police officer and my mom worked as a fitness instructor and interior decorator when we were little. I have one younger sister, Alexis, who is currently an English PhD candidate and instructor at Indiana University.
I look forward to working with each student and family at Olson and making life long memories together. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
