Eagle Academy Program

Electronic Device Policy

 

The Dillard Center Eagle Academy Program’s Electronic Device Policy was created for appropriate usage of computers and other electronic devices. The use of such devices are a privilege and if abused can be result in suspension of use by Dillard Center Principal.

 

·         ALL personal electronic devices for music will be in full view on student’s desk

·         ONLY one personal electronic device will be allowed

·         When leaving work station (i.e, water break, rest room), the personal device must remain at the desk in full view or can be left with a teacher until return to desk

·         One (1) warning will be given regarding inappropriate usage of the personal device. After the second violation the device will be taken up

·         Continued inappropriate usage of a personal device could result in loss of privilege

·         Refusal to comply with rules or a teacher’s request to hand over the device, student will be subject to a referral and prohibited from bringing a personal device in the future.

 

Cell Phones:

  • Cell phones are not allowed inside the Dillard Center
  • Phones should be left at home or locked in student vehicle
  • In extreme circumstances, if a student needs to bring phone to class, student must see teacher at arrival/check-in and hand over the phone and it will be returned upon dismissal.

 

Computers:

  • The Eagle Academy computers are used to work on Nova Net, E2020, and/or ALEKS
  • The computers are monitored by staff and the AISD Technology Department for inappropriate usage
  • Internet usage is restricted for use of research regarding the coursework when appropriate
  • Chat rooms, e-mail, Instant Messaging, text messaging are not allowed on the computer – period!
  • Games and non-course related videos will not be allowed except with teacher’s approval /permission
  • Headphones may be used for course-related audio/video segments of course lessons
  • No USB devices, which can store or transmit data, may be used on the computer

 

Music Devices:

  • Personal device may be used for listening to music while doing course work.
  • The personal device must NOT have video or communication capability (i.e., iPhone, iPod-Touch)

 

MP3 device list:

A personal device may include:


  • CD player
  • MP3 player
  • IPod Shuffle/Classic
