Career Portal in Communications and Media Arts Science 7/8
Welcome to Career Portals in Communications and Media Arts Science. This elective is a one semester course that will focus on the careers of Communications and Media Arts.
Course Outline:
We will focus on the following areas.
· Photography
· Animation
· Graphic Design
· Audio/Video
In each of these areas we will do some type of hands on or research assignment. All assignments will be completed in class and the only time a student will receive homework is if they do not do the work in class or if they have been absent and need to catch up assignments. Some of the assignments will be done in groups, however ALL students will be responsible for doing their part of the assignment. If a student is not cooperating with their group and is not doing the required work, they will be removed from the group and will be required to complete the assignment on their own

Class Schedule Break Down
5 min - Me Time
(This time is used for students to log in and check Skyward for the blog question of the day and answer it. Teacher will check attendance during this time)
10 min - Group Time
(This time is used to go over what we will be working on and answer any questions. Sometimes this time will take more than 10 min depending on the assignment work time will be adjusted as needed.)
30min - Work Time
(This time is used for students to work on their assignments. If a student finishes an assignment early, they may: read, work on homework for other classes, practice working in the programs we are working on in class, or help the teacher with things she needs done for the class to earn star student points. No Games are to be played during class time!)
5 min - Clean Time
(This time is used to clean up your work area, log out, and get prepared for class to be dismissed. You may not always have a full 5 minutes for this and you should be standing behind your chair with it pushed in and logged out of your class to be dismissed.)
