Welcome to Max O. Vaughan Elementary! Mr. Vaughan was the principal of Allen High School when I graduated from there in 1974. I find it a great honor to be an administrator in the school that bears his name.
Serving as principal, I am committed to providing the time, attention, and resources needed to ensure the success and safety of all students, staff and faculty of Vaughan Elementary. Our mission is to develop good citizens and life-long learners by teaming with the community to provide the highest quality education in a caring, safe environment.
I attended the University of North Texas where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, my Masters Degree in Reading, and my Certification in Educational Administration. I began my teaching career as a first grade teacher at Rountree Elementary (the only elementary school at the time) in 1978. My entire 35 years in education have all been here in AISD.
My husband, Joe, and I have been married for 32 years. We have two wonderful children, Chelsea and Chance. Both graduated from Allen High School after attending AISD schools K-12. We were also thrilled to welcome our son-in-law, Matt, into the family in January of 2009 and our precious granddaughter, Dylan Paige, in October of 2011. She is the sweet little Vaughan Viking in the picture below!
Please let me know if I can ever be of any assistance to you.
