Ford Middle School’s Advanced Art students enjoyed meeting Juan Pedro Baca an accomplished artist from Peru and one of the featured artists in the Andean Nations/Central America ART EXPO at the Village at Fairview Sept. 15-18, 2011. Mr. Baca showed the students his art work on his website: juanpedrobaca.blogspot.com and then lead the students in a collaborative painting. One at a time the students were blindfolded and drew with charcoal and pastels on a large canvass. Then each student painted a small section on the canvass. They all signed their name to the back and took a picture with Mr. Baca. Mr. Baca will complete the painting on Saturday at the ART EXPO and everyone is encouraged to come see the finished piece. He will also put a picture of the completed collaboration on his website. Many thanks to Regina Taylor, Sandra Lovesey and Mr. Ricardo Bowen for making this engaging presentation possible!
Juan Pedro Baca completed the painting he started with my Advanced Art students and brought it to Ford Thursday to give to us as a gift. Please see the attached photos. We will proudly display the painting in the lobby of Ford MS!
