Non Traditional Program The Non Traditional classroom is for grades 9 - 12 for students in crisis situations. These students are placed at the Dillard Center for reasons such as pregnancy, having emotional/mental health problems, returning from a rehabilitation program, or other issues. The Non Traditional classroom is a safe and caring environment where students can come until they are able to return to their regular campus. A placement in this program is based on the recommendation by the campus principal. Students' assignments are sent from the regular campus and Dillard teachers work with the students on those assignments. This program is supported by counselors through the Child and Family Guidance Center of Dallas. The program is called Safety Net and the counselors meet with the students on an individual basis. Please see the "Resources" tab for more information on Safety Net. Students should arrive to school between 8:45 a.m. and 9:05 a.m. Students are tardy at 9:05 a.m. Students are dismissed at 3:50 p.m. Students have the option of riding the bus or having parents drop them off and pick them up. Non Discipline students are allowed to drive their own vehicles with the permission of the Dillard Center Administrator. Electronic devices are strictly prohibited at the Dillard Center. Cell phones or other electronic devises are not allowed inside the Dillard Center. If an item is taken up, a parent or guardian must pick it up with the Administrator's approval. If your child is absent, please call the Transportation Department at 972-727-0542 prior to 8:00 am in addition to notifying the Dillard Center. Upon return to Dillard, parents must provide a signed note explaining the reason for the absence and date of the absence. If the note is not received within 5 school days of the student returning to school, the absence will be marked unexcused. Last Modified on August 4, 2011
