Who:                    Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of students wanting to tryout for cheerleader or mascot for the 2017 – 2018 school year

What:                  Cheerleading & Mascot informational meeting explaining guidelines for cheerleading & mascot tryouts

Important Information:

February 15:               Parent Meeting for 2017-2018 Ereckson Middle School Cheer/Mascot Candidates

7:00 PM                       Candidate & Parents attendance is required. Tryout packets will be distributed at the meeting. You must attend the meeting to be eligible to try out.


February 22:              ALL Cheerleader or Mascot forms are due, signed to EMS office

4:00 PM                       by 4:00 PM.  Forms will be available at the 2-15-17 meeting.  NO LATE FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED.


March 13-14:                Cheerleader only tryout clinic for all candidates in the Lowery Gym

4:00-6:00 PM


March 18:                     7th & 8th Grade Cheerleader Tryouts

8:30AM                - 7th & 8th grade candidates report to Lowery Freshmen Center Gym

  - 8:30 am – cheerleaders arrive and warm-up

  - 9:00 am – tryouts begin

  -10:00 am– tryouts end (approximate time)

  -Announcement of 2017-2018 Spirit Squads online after tryouts


(Mascot tryouts will only occur if there are more than two mascot candidates interested) More Information to come depending on the amount of interest.

*Maximum of two mascots will be chosen*


***If your child makes the squad, there be a mandatory new team meeting and varsity fitting March 23rd 4:00-6:00 for the cheerleader and a parent to attend at EMS.***

She/he will also be required to attend the Allen Middle School day camp listed below.


July 31-August 2 2017:       Allen ISD Middle School Cheer Camp

9:00 AM-4:00 PM   -Attendance is required each day for cheerleaders and mascots
