The Foundation For Allen Schools recently held a lively and informative appreciation luncheon in Allen ISD’s Professional Learning and Auxiliary Services building attended by almost 100 active donors.
The luncheon featured two educators, Allen High School instructor Annette Terry and Vaughan Elementary teacher Sydnie Collier discussing how generous grants from the Foundation facilitated key programs to benefit students. Ms. Terry explained the importance of the high school’s Mentor Teacher Program in promoting the highest quality education for students. Ms. Collier outlined how the “Math by the Book” program expanded and enhanced a love of math from kindergarten through the upper grades.
Additionally, Superintendent Dr. Robin Bullock and Chief Communications Officer David Hicks provided an update on the district’s state of schools. Foundation Board Member Tracy Walker provided closing remarks.
The Foundation For Allen Schools will fund 119 educational grants for the 2024-2025 school year in Allen ISD. Thousands of students and more than 300 teachers and staff will be involved. These grants total $216,000 and bring the Foundation’s funding of grants to $2.1 million to date thanks to generous contributions by its donors.
