Dear Cheatham Elementary First Grade Parents,

Welcome to one of the most incredible years of your child's life!  First grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning.  You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow this year.  We hope to make your child's first grade year memorable and instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child's years of schooling.
There is so much that happens in first grade.  It is very important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes.  Each child will progress at his/her pace, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready.  Maintaining each child's self-esteem and building a strong foundation for future growth will always remain a priority.  You can help us by celebrating your child's successes (no matter how small), checking your child's communication binder each night, reading emails, and practicing math facts and reading with your child every day!
