Curtis and Ereckson Middle School orchestras recently placed in the Texas Music Educators Association Middle School Honor String Orchestra Competition for 2023-2024.
The Ereckson MS Chamber Orchestra, directed by Joanna DeVoto, placed 3rd and the Curtis MS Chamber Orchestra, directed by Amanda Su, placed 5th.
Orchestras entering this competition must submit a recording of a live, unedited concert to TMEA. A judging panel for round one listens to all of the submissions and selects the top 6-8 groups. The final round panel of judges listens to the finalist’s recordings, ranks them, and names a winner.
