Members of Allen ISD’s Silver Eagles visited Allen High School for a behind-the-scenes look at the AHS Theatre Department’s production of “Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief.” The Silver Eagles watched rehearsals and learned about how the students assemble a musical for the stage. Author and illustrator Don Tate visited Lindsey Elementary to share his journey from a kid who loved drawing to becoming an award-winning writer and artist. He demonstrated live illustrations and discussed his 80+ books, focusing on biographies of little-known historical figures.
Marion Elementary School students cheered their UIL teams with a parade in anticipation of the district-wide academic contests in Allen High School set for Saturday, Jan. 25. Go Mavericks!
The Allen ISD Leadership Academy recently toured the AISD Service Center, learning about the district's behind-the-scenes operations. They also visited Evans Elementary to explore the features and improvements of a fully renovated campus.

A team of Allen High School Students was recently honored by Rep. Keith Self for winning second place in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge. Team members are Varun Hittuvalli, Aayan Ali, Nikhil Saravana, and Saketh Sripada.
The contest encourages students in each congressional district to foster an appreciation for computer science and STEM by designing and submitting original apps. The AHS team’s app, Civic Compass, provides personalized voting and election information by using location data for details about candidates, voting, and other election information.
Congress members publicly recognize winning teams, and each winning app may be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. A Frisco Centennial High School team won the challenge for Rep. Self’s district.
