Student Section Leaders

The Allen High School student section leaders are more than a passionate group of individuals who lead chants and maintain the energy in the student section throughout games. They also play a larger role in many AHS sports, from event logistics to social media promotion.

Behind the scenes, they are crucial at putting in the work to make sure all AHS events have the same passion and fire.

“People tend to think we just show up to games to be loud,” said Senior Captain George McClaskey, “but we actually plan a lot of stuff between pep rallies and picking themes.”

Outside of cheering on teams and keeping the student section hyped, this group of students helps organize student events for multiple sports to ensure they run smoothly, from event logistics to social media promotion.

The captains have gained valuable life skills aside from the experience gained from managing the student section.

“I tend to go in my shell a lot and it’s taught me to get out of that and to be who I am,” said Junior Leader Isabella Schoellman. “It’s taught me to be the best version of myself in front of the student body."

Their enthusiastic attitude towards the school is contagious and builds excitement from other students to support the athletes. The student section leaders provide support all-year-round for a wide range of sports.

“I love how the student section leaders always get the student section hype,” said senior and Soccer Captain Carter Geist. “It makes coming out to the football games a lot more fun.”

The last football game of the regular season resulted in another Eagle win, clinching a playoff berth and maintaining an undefeated season. As usual, the student section leaders were with the team.

After football season, student section leaders rally students for the rest of the year, bringing the spirit of the student section to AHS sports.
