The Board of Trustees takes time at the start of each regular meeting to celebrate the outstanding students and staff of Allen ISD. At the December 2023 Board meeting, the Board recognized Lainey Kim, a 9th grader from the Lowery Freshman Center for winning the District Holiday Card Contest.
Students across the District, kindergarten through 12th grade, had the opportunity to put their artistic talents to the test and design a cover for the holiday card that was sent from the Board of Trustees to community and business leaders in and around Allen.
Hundreds of submissions were received, and a panel of judges had the difficult task of narrowing down the talented submissions into one final winner. The judges ultimately chose Lainey’s card.
To celebrate Lainey’s artistic achievements, she will receive:
· A framed copy of the original artwork
· A collection of the holiday cards and envelopes to keep
· A special certificate from the Allen ISD Board of Trustees
· A $25 gift card to Hobby Lobby to purchase more art supplies! The gift card was graciously donated by the Foundation For Allen Schools.
