Sam Abiog, Place 2, and Kevin Cameron, Place 3, will retire from the Allen ISD Board of Trustees after their current terms expire in May 2024. Both Sam and Kevin are longtime school and community volunteers and supporters of Allen ISD.
Sam Abiog has served on the Allen ISD Board of Trustees since May 2022. Sam and her husband, Rolly, moved to Allen in 2007 with their four daughters who have all been successful Allen students (classes of 2016, 2018, 2020 & 2024). She is a former PTA President and booster volunteer for several campuses and organizations.
“Allen is a special city with an amazing school district and I’m proud to have raised my four children here,” said Abiog. “As a Board member, one of the things that truly fills my heart with happiness is observing children firsthand as they grasp educational concepts with the guidance of their expert teachers. I look forward to continuing to serve our community in new leadership roles.”
Kevin Cameron has served on the Board since August 2019. He is the current Board Vice President and former Board Secretary. He and his wife, Shelley, have been involved in Allen schools since their triplet sons (Class of 2020) and daughter (Class of 2024) began kindergarten in Allen ISD. Kevin has served as a PTA president, WatchDOGS coordinator, and booster club president.
“It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve on the Board with other positive and committed individuals,” said Cameron. “I firmly believe that what we’ve accomplished has made a positive impact on the students and staff in Allen ISD.”
Both Cameron and Abiog are looking forward to spending quality time with family as both of their youngest children will graduate from Allen High School this May.
“I want to thank Sam and Kevin for their selfless contributions to Allen ISD,” said Superintendent Dr. Robin Bullock. “Serving on the Board of Trustees involves long hours of meetings and prep work, and oftentimes it is a thankless job. But I know that Sam and Kevin joined us on this journey for the right reasons - which is to support the amazing students and exceptional staff of our school district. I wish both of them well in their future endeavors.”
