Transfers of children and grandchildren of employees

Allen ISD staff benefit from being able to send their children/grandchildren to Allen ISD schools. Staff who are not Allen ISD residents can have their children/grandchildren attend the campuses in their feeder pattern. Allen ISD employees that are residents within Allen ISD boundaries can contact your campus registrar or the student services department for additional information.

Once an Employee-Children/Grandchildren transfer has been approved, a student in good standing may remain at the assigned campus for the duration of the grade levels available at that campus with the approval of the annual transfer application.

Considerations

  • To be considered, all transfer applications must include the most recent attendance, grades, and discipline records. For current students in Allen ISD, this documentation is already on file.

  • Employees must be in good standing with the District when the transfer request is submitted, or the request will be denied.

  • Transfers shall be granted for one regular school year at a time and must be applied for annually. Approval for one year does not guarantee nor imply the approval of future transfers.

  • Transportation will not be provided for transfer students and is the parent's responsibility.

  • Violation of the terms of the transfer agreement may result in a transfer being revoked during the current school year or not being approved for the following year.

  • Transfer criteria include school enrollment capacity, specific grade level capacity, and program capacity. Allen ISD has the sole discretion to determine whether space exists at the requested transfer campus.

  • Student transfers may be denied and/or revoked due to poor attendance, excessive tardiness, failure to pick up students at dismissal time, lack of parental cooperation, and/or behavioral issues.

  • Please note that the original transfer request will be subject to immediate revocation if false or misleading information is provided.
