About Prekindergarten
Allen ISD offers a full-day prekindergarten program for students who are four (4) years old by Sept. 1, live within the boundaries of Allen ISD, and meet at least one of the state’s eligibility criteria. The full-day program consists of monolingual and bilingual classes and is located at George J. Anderson Early Childhood School.
Pre-K classes are held at George J. Anderson Early Childhood School, 305 North Alder Dr., Allen, Texas) from 7:30 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. The program focuses on building essential academic, social, and developmental skills in a supportive, engaging environment.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for enrollment in prekindergarten, a child must be four (4) years old on or before September 1, live in the Allen ISD attendance zone, and meet at least one of the state's eligibility requirements listed below:
Income: Total/combined income (before taxes) of all the adults (related or unrelated to the student) who live in the same household and fall within state income guidelines for free/reduced price meals.
Income Guidelines - Parents must submit one of the following:
Once month's payment stub(s)
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility letter with Eligibility Determination Group number listed.
Limited English Proficient: The child’s English proficiency is limited due to another language spoken in the home. (not fluent in English) The child will be given an English proficiency test to determine this qualification. Administration of oral language proficiency assessment will be confirmed directly with parents.
Please know that if your child is fluent in English, your family will need to qualify based on your income, even if another language is spoken at home.
Homeless: Families must meet the definition of homeless according to the McKinney-Vento Act.
Military: The student is the child of an active-duty member of the armed forces.
The student is the child of a parent who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
Foster: The child is currently or was previously in foster care.
Star of Texas: The student is the child of a peace officer, a firefighter, or an emergency medical first responder who is eligible for the Star of Texas Award.
Required Documents
If eligibility is met, documents listed below are required:
Birth Certificate or Passport
Updated student’s Immunization Records (Texas Requirements)
Picture ID of both parents/guardians enrolling student.
Proof of Residency within school attendance boundaries, supply one of the following (Under parent’s/guardian’s name):
HUD Settlement Statement, or Closing Disclosure OR
Lease Agreement, OR
Contract of Sale/Lease Contract OR
Current Utility bill (gas, water, or electric) one only.
If applicable, Court Documents regarding parental rights
If applicable, Withdrawal Form/Report Card from the previous school AND Previous School Address & Phone Number
All families must have proof of income regardless of meeting other qualifying requirements, as we are a state program and are required to collect this data.

2025-2026 Prekindergarten Registration (August 2025 – NY Next year)
Student must be four (4) years old by September 1, 2025.

The Allen ISD Prekindergarten Enrollment Clerk will contact you once your pre-qualification application is submitted.
