The Allen ISD Leadership Academy gathered at Lowery Freshman Center (LFC) for a full-day session focused on the LFC, Dillard Special Achievement Center, special services, and student services.
They began the day with a tour of LFC, where they learned about its role in preparing ninth-grade students for the transition to high school. Dillard Special Achievement Center Principal Dr. Tanisha Rogers provided insights into the district’s alternative education programs and the specialized support available to students.
A presentation on Special Services highlighted the district’s commitment to meeting the needs of all students. Executive Director Montie Parker and Director Dr. Theresa Taylor shared details about programs and resources that support students requiring individualized services.
A session on school leadership and student services, led by Deputy Superintendent Kim McLaughlin, featured insights from Executive Directors for School Leadership Larry Labue and Melissa Pursifull, Director of Student Services Jessica Warlick, and Director of Counseling & Future Readiness Becky Wiginton. They explored how the district supports students, manages campus operations, and implements strategic initiatives to foster student success.
The Allen ISD Leadership Academy allows community members to engage with district leaders, explore key areas of school operations, and gain a broader perspective on how Allen ISD serves its students and families.
