Girl stacks cups at Community Engagement Night

Allen ISD recently hosted its Community Engagement Night: Family Summer Kickoff at the STEAM Center, welcoming families from across the district to prepare for a successful summer.

Attendees enjoyed a free hot dog dinner before participating in two rounds of interactive, conference-style sessions. Topics included academic strategies to support summer learning, swim safety, positive parenting, creative enrichment, job readiness, college preparation, and school transitions. Several sessions featured hands-on, make-and-take resources for continued learning at home.

Families also heard directly from students, counselors, and campus leaders about transitions into middle and high school. STEAM Ambassadors led guided tours of the STEAM Center, showcasing innovative learning environments and outdoor spaces.

Student-led STEM activities provided childcare, allowing families to fully engage in the evening sessions.

The Family Summer Kickoff reflected Allen ISD’s commitment to building strong community partnerships, preparing students for the future, and supporting individualized growth for every learner.

Thank you to the families who attended and to the staff, students, volunteers, and community partners who helped make the event a success.
