Who doesn't love a holiday treat? The Silver Eagles recently attended a cooking demonstration, hosted by Allen ISD Student Nutrition staff, to explore some delicious and healthy holiday snacks. Just a few of the menu items included cranberry pomegranate oatmeal, broccoli salad with mandarin ginger dressing, and mashed turnips with shaved brussels sprouts. Thanks to all our Silver Eagles who came out to enjoy this special holiday cooking demonstration!

Boyd Elementary School held its annual Holiday Shop for students during the week before Christmas. The Holiday Shop allows students to “shop” for a variety of Christmas gifts from a selection of donations provided by school supporters and the community. Students are provided with a special Christmas tree ticket to participate and are allowed to choose four gifts over the course of the event.

The Allen High School Chamber Orchestra recently placed fifth in the Texas Music Educators Association High School Honor String Orchestra Competition for 2023-2024. The orchestra, under the direction of David DeVoto, entered this competition with a recorded submission of a live, unedited concert to TMEA. Congratulations to the Allen High School Chamber Orchestra for their hard work.

Allen ISD nurses added some holiday fun to their regular monthly meeting in December through a Christmas wrapping contest with a twist:. They wrapped their colleagues. The wrapped nurses were Lindsey Jackson, Megan Herndon, Amy Hargrove and Benny Bolin, with Amy being judged the best wrapped.

The Allen High School/Lowery Freshman Center PTA held its annual holiday cookie decorating competition for staff at the STEAM Center with a variety of unique and unusual designs vying for the judges’ favor. Ereckson Middle School seventh graders recently displayed their creativity and knowledge during a special human anatomy exhibit at the school. The students in gifted and talented science classes produced displays and activities designed to describe how the human body functions. The projects included explanations of the circulatory, respiratory, immune, and digestive systems – among others -- through inventive exhibits and games.

Allen ISD students, trustees and staff created a jolly good time for spectators at the annual Rotary Christmas Parade on Dec. 3 in downtown Allen. Participants included students from JROTC, the Escadrille, cheer, the regional champion football team, soccer, baseball, volleyball, the state champion robotics team, American Sign Language, Ford Middle School, and more. Cheatham Elementary students donated 740 cereal boxes to All Community Outreach on Monday, Nov. 27. Students collected cereal boxes for two months to create a cereal box domino fall that circled the entire campus building. Before the Thanksgiving Break, the Allen Philharmonic Symphony put on a performance for fourth graders in Allen ISD at the AHS PAC. The performance featured performances from many Allen ISD students as well!

The Curtis and Ereckson Middle School Math and Science Teams recently competed in the Welcome to the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TSMCA) Invitational Meet with Ereckson winning the Sweepstakes award and four event categories. Curtis came in second in the Sweepstakes.
Ereckson won first place in all four team events - General Math, Calculator Applications, Number Sense and Science. Curtis won second place in General Math, third place in Number Sense and third place in Calculator Applications.
